7 What, then? What Israel is seeking for, this he did not obtain; but the election obtained it , and the rest were hardened;

8 as it has been written, "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this day."

9 And David says, "Let their table be a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling-block, and a recompense to them:

10 let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always."
