6 who tho' he was the image of God, did not affect to appear with divine majesty, but divested himself thereof,

7 by assuming the form of a servant: being made in the likeness of men,

8 and his whole exterior showing nothing more than a meer man, he abased himself, and carried his submission so far as to die, even the death of the cross.
