2 And they said, “YHWH commanded my lord to give the land as an inheritance by lot to the sons of Israel, and my lord was commanded by YHWH to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters. 3 And if they are to one of the sons of the tribes of the sons of Israel for wives, their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and it will be added to the inheritance of the tribe that they marry into. And from the lot of our inheritance it is withdrawn. 4 And if it is the Jubilee of the sons of Israel, their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe that they marry into, and from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers their inheritance shall be withdrawn.” 5 And Moses commanded the sons of Israel according to the word of YHWH, saying, “Rightly the tribe of the sons of Joseph speaks. 6 This is the thing that YHWH commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying: Let them be for wives to those good in their eyes, but only within the family of the tribe of their father let them be for wives. 7 And the inheritance of the sons of Israel shall not change hands from tribe to tribe, for a man of the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers, the sons of Israel shall cling to.
