1 The sabbath being over, and the first day of the week beginning to dawn, Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, came to see the sepulchre. 2 now there had been a great earthquake; for an angel of the lord descending from heaven, was come, and had rolled away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it. 3 his aspect was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow. 4 for fear of whom the keepers shook, and were almost struck dead. 5 but the angel spoke to the woman, and said, don't be frighted, I know you are seeking Jesus, who was crucified.
