3 Then Judas, the one having delivered Him up, having seen that He was condemned, having regretted it, returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 saying, “I sinned, having betrayed innocent blood.” But they said, “What is it to us? You will see.” 5 And having cast down the pieces of silver into the temple, he withdrew. And having gone away, he hanged himself. 6 And the chief priests, having taken the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.” 7 And having taken counsel, they bought with them the potter’s field for a burial place for foreigners. 8 Therefore that field was called Field of Blood until this day. 9 Then was fulfilled that having been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of the One having been priced, on whom a price was set by the sons of Israel, 10 and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.” Matthew 27:3-10, Berean Literal Bible.
