1 And He went out from there and came to His hometown, and His disciples follow Him. 2 And on the Sabbath having come, He began to teach in the synagogue; and many hearing were astonished, saying, “From where to this man are these things, and what is the wisdom having been given to Him, and the miracles such as are done by His hands? 3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” And they were taking offense at Him. 4 And Jesus was saying to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his house.” 5 And He was not able to do there any miracle except, having laid the hands on a few of the sick, He healed them. 6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. And He was going around the villages, teaching. Mark 6:1-6, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
