1 Now after two days was the passover, and the feast of unleavened bread; and the high priests and the scribes were seeking how, taking Him by guile, they might kill Him; 2 for they said, "Not during the feast, lest there should be an uproar of the people." 3 And, while He was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as He was reclining at table , there came a woman having an alabaster cruse of ointment of pure spikenard, very costly; and, having broken the cruse, she was pouring it down on His bead. 4 But there were some who were much displeased among themselves, saying , "To what purpose has this waste of the ointment been made?
