2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation {ethnos}, forbidding payment of taxes to Caesar (Emporer), and proclaiming Himself to be Christ (the Anointed One), a King. 3 So Pilate (armed with a spear) asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews (people of praise)? “You have said so, Jesus replied. 4 Then Pilate (armed with a spear) said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge against this man. 5 But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people all over Judea (land of praise) with His teaching {didaskōn}.
