1 One day in a place where Jesus had just finished praying, one of His disciples (pupils) requested, “Lord {Kyrie}, teach {didaxon} us to pray, just as John (YHWH is gracious) taught his disciples.

2 So Jesus told them, “When you⁺ pray, say: ‘Father [Our Father in heaven], hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come [Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven].

3 Give us each day our daily bread.

4 And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation [but deliver us from the evil one].
