1 NOW Jericho was shut up because of the presence of the children of Israel; none went out and none came in. 2 And the LORD said to Joshua, See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, with its king and all its armed forces. 3 And you shall encircle the city, all the men of war, and you shall go round about the city once a day. Thus shall you do for six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear trumpets, and blow before the ark; and on the seventh day you shall go around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. 5 And it shall come to pass that when they blow the trumpets and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up every man straight before him. 6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, Take up the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets and blow them before the ark of the LORD. 7 And he said to the people, Pass on and encircle the city, and let those who are armed march on before the ark of the LORD.
