1 Now when all the Amorite (a sayer) kings west of the Jordan (flowing down) and all the Canaanite (merchant) kings along the coast (along the Mediterranean coast) heard how the LORD {YHWH} had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the Israelites (God prevails) until they had crossed over (until we had crossed over), their hearts melted and their spirits {ruach} failed for fear of the Israelites. 2 At that time the LORD {YHWH} said to Joshua (YHWH saves), “Make flint knives and circumcise the sons of Israel (he wrestles with God) once again \again the second time/. 3 So Joshua (YHWH saves) made flint knives and circumcised the sons of Israel (he wrestles with God) at Gibeath-haaraloth (the hill of the foreskins).
