1 JESUS then before the days of the passover came to Bethany, where the deceased Lazarus was, whom he had raised from the dead. 2 Therefore they made him a supper there; and Martha waited: but Lazarus was one of those who sat at table with him. 3 Then Mary taking a pound of unadulterated balm of nard, very valuable, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4 Then said one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, who was preparing to betray him, 5 Wherefore was not this aromatic ointment sold for three hundred denarii, and given to the poor?
