25 “I have heard what the prophets say, those prophesying in My name deception, saying, ‘I have dreamed! I have dreamed! 26 How long will it be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? And indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart, 27 who are devising to make My people forget My name by their dreams that tell, a man to his neighbor, just as their fathers forgot My name for Baal. 28 The prophet with whom is a dream, let him recount the dream, and with whom is My word, let him speak My word in faithfulness. What is the chaff to the wheat?” A declaration of YHWH. 29 “Is it not thus, My word is like the fire,” a declaration of YHWH, “And like a hammer that dashes a rock?” 30 “Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets,” a declaration of YHWH, “Those stealing My words, each man from his neighbor.” 31 “Behold, I am against the prophets—” says YHWH—“Those taking their own tongues, and prophesying, ‘His utterance.” 32 “Behold, I am against those prophesying False dreams,” a declaration of YHWH, “And they recount them and lead astray My people by their lies and by their recklessness; and I did not send them and did not command them, and there shall not be profit for this people,” a declaration of YHWH.
