1 “ The sin of Judah is written with a stylus of iron; with the nail of a diamond it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart and on the horns of your⁺ altars, 2 while their sons remember their altars and their Asherah poles, by the green trees on the high hills. 3 O My mountain in the field, I will give your wealth and all your treasures as plunder, your high places of sin within all your borders! 4 And you shall let go—even you—of your inheritance that I gave to you. And I will make you serve your enemies in the land that you have not known. For you⁺ have kindled a fire in My nose; it will burn even to forever!” 5 Thus says YHWH: “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his arm and turns away his heart from YHWH. 6 And he shall be like a shrub in the desert plain, and he shall not see when good comes, and he shall dwell in the parched places in the desert, in a salt land without dweller.
