For the day of YHWH of hosts is upon everything proud and lofty, and upon everything lifted up—and it will be brought low—

and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, those being high and lifted up, and upon all the Oaks of Bashan,

and upon all on the mountains that are high, and upon all on the hills that are lifted up,

and upon every high tower, and upon every fortified wall,

and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all the desirable vessels.

And the haughtiness of man will be bent down, and the loftiness of men will be brought low, and YHWH alone will be exalted in that day—

and the idols utterly will pass away.

And they will go into the caves of rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from the face of the dread of YHWH and the glory of His majesty, in His rising to shake the earth.

In that day man will throw away the idols of his silver, and idols of his gold, which they made, each for himself, to bow down to diggers of holes and to the bats,

to go into the crevices of the rocks, and into the clefts of the cliffs, before the face of the dread of YHWH and the glory of His majesty, in His rising to shake the earth.

Cease yourselves from man, whose breath is in his nostril, for of what account is he?
