1 A branch there will come forth from the stump of Jesse, and a fresh shoot from his roots will bear fruit. 2 And will rest upon Him the Spirit of YHWH, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of YHWH. 3 And His delight is in the fear of YHWH, and by the sight of His eyes He will not judge, and not by the hearing of his ears He will decide. 4 And He will judge the lowly with righteousness, and He will decide with straightness for the poor of the earth; and He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.
