1 When Jacob (he grasps the heel) learned that there was grain in Egypt (land of bondage), he said to his sons, “Why are you⁺ staring at one another?” 2 “Look,” he added, “I have heard that there is grain in Egypt (land of bondage). Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.” 3 So ten of Joseph’s (YHWH has added) brothers went down to buy grain from Egypt (land of bondage).
