21 And Isaac entreated YHWH for his wife, because she was barren. And YHWH was entreated for him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her, and she said, “If so, why this I?” And she went to inquire of YHWH. 23 And YHWH said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from your bowels shall be separated; and one people shall be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.” 24 And her days to give birth were fulfilled, and indeed there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out ruddy all over, hairy like a cloak, and they called his name Esau. 26 And afterward his brother came out, and his hand was grasping at the heel of Esau, and he called his name Jacob.
