9 They came to the place which God had told him of. Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and placed him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Abraham reached out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son. 11 But an angel of God called to him out of the sky, and said, |Abraham, Abraham.| He said, |Here I am.| 12 He said, |Do not lay your hand on the boy, neither do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only one, from me.| 13 And Abraham looked up and saw behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns.
