29 And Abram (exalted father) and Nahor (snorting) took wives for themselves. Abram’s wife was named Sarai (princess), and Nahor’s wife was named Milcah (queen); she was the daughter of Haran (mountaineer), who was the father of both Milcah and Iscah (one who looks forth).

30 But Sarai (princess) was barren; she had no children.

31 And Terah (station) took his son Abram (exalted father), his grandson Lot (covering) son of Haran (mountaineer), and his daughter-in-law Sarai (princess) the wife of Abram, and they set out from Ur (flame) of the Chaldeans (clod-breakers) for the land of Canaan (lowland). But when they arrived in Haran, they settled there.
