27 This is the account of Terah (station). Terah became the father of Abram (exalted father), Nahor (snorting), and Haran (mountaineer). And Haran became the father of Lot (covering). 28 During his father Terah’s lifetime (station), Haran (mountaineer) died in his native land, in Ur (flame) of the Chaldeans (clod-breakers). 29 And Abram (exalted father) and Nahor (snorting) took wives for themselves. Abram’s wife was named Sarai (princess), and Nahor’s wife was named Milcah (queen); she was the daughter of Haran (mountaineer), who was the father of both Milcah and Iscah (one who looks forth).
