Ezekiel 7:19-27 ▼

Their silver they will throw into the streets, and their gold will become like refuse; their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of YHWH. Their souls they cannot satisfy, and their stomachs they cannot fill, for a stumbling block their iniquity has become.

And the beauty of His ornament, in majesty he set it, and the images of their abominations, their detestable things they made with it. Upon thus I have made it for them like refuse.

And I will give it into the hands of strangers as plunder, and to the wicked of the earth as spoil, and they will defile it.

And I will turn away My face from them, and they will defile My treasured place—and robbers will come into it, and they will defile it!

Make a chain! For the land is filled with with the judgment of blood, and the city is full of violence.

And I will bring the evil of the nations, and they will possess their houses; and I will cause to cease the pride of the strong, and their holy places will be defiled.

Anguish comes, and they will seek peace and there is none.

Disaster upon disaster will come, and rumor will be upon rumor; and they will seek a vision from a prophet, and the law will perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

The king will mourn, and the prince will be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble; according to their own way I will deal with them, and by their own judgment I will judge them; and they will know that I am YHWH.’”
