Ezekiel 35:7-15 ▼

And I will make Mount Seir into an utter desolation, and I will cut off from it the one passing by and the one returning.

And I will fill its mountains with the slain. On your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your ravines, those slain by the sword will fall in them.

I will make you a desolation forever, and your cities will not be inhabited. You⁺ will know that I am YHWH.

Because you have said, ‘The two nations and the two lands will be unto me, and we will possess them,’ and YHWH has been there,

therefore, as I live, a declaration of the Lord YHWH, I will do according to your anger, and according to the jealousy with which you acted in your hatred against them, and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.

And you will know that I am YHWH. I have heard all your despisings that you have said about the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are desolate; they are given to us for food.’

Thus you⁺ have boasted against Me with your⁺ mouth, and you⁺ have multiplied against Me your⁺ words—I have heard it Myself.

Thus says the Lord YHWH: According to the rejoicing of all the earth, I will make for you a desolation.

According to your rejoicing at the inheritance of the house of Israel, upon that it has become desolate, so will I do to you! You will become a desolation, O Mount Seir, and all of Edom—all of it—and they will know that I am YHWH.
