4 For they did not meet you⁺ with food and water on your⁺ way out of Egypt (land of bondage), and they hired Balaam (not of the people) son of Beor (burning) from Pethor (soothsayer) in Aram-naharaim (Aram of the two rivers) to curse you. 5 Yet the LORD your God {YHWH Eloheka} would not listen to Balaam (not of the people), and the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you.
