21 And in his place shall rise up a vile person, to whom they shall not bestow the royal honor; but he shall come suddenly and seize the kingdom by fraud. 22 And the fortified cities in the provinces shall be plundered, and shall scatter before him even the high priests of the covenant. 23 And some of those who will make a league with him shall work deceitfully against him. 24 And yet he shall become strong, and ally himself with a small people and with the rich cities; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall carry away prey and spoil and riches; yea, and he shall devise plots against their provinces.
