Amos 8:1-3 ▼

1 This is what the Lord GOD {Adonai YHWH} showed me: I saw a basket of summer fruit (ripe fruit).

2 “Amos (burden), what do you see?” He asked. “A basket of summer fruit,” I replied. So the LORD {YHWH} said to me, “The end has come for My people Israel (he wrestles with God); I will no longer spare them.”

3 “In that day,” declares the Lord GOD {Adonai YHWH}, “the songs (the singing women) of the temple (palace) will turn to wailing. Many will be the corpses, strewn in silence everywhere!”
