15 And he departed from there, and he met Jehonadab son of Rechab coming to meet him. And he blessed him and said to him, “Is your heart straight as my heart is toward your heart?” And Jehonadab answered, “It is.” And he said, “Give me your hand.” And he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot. 16 And he said, “Come with me and see my zeal for YHWH.” And they had him ride in his chariot. 17 And he came to Samaria, and he killed all who remained to Ahab in Samaria until he had destroyed them, according to the word of YHWH that He spoke to Elijah. 18 And Jehu gathered together all the people and said to them, “Ahab served the Baal a little; Jehu will serve him much. 19 And now all the prophets of the Baal, all his servants, and all his priests, call to me. Let not a man be missing, for a great sacrifice I have for the Baal. Anyone who is missing shall not live.” And Jehu acted deceptively, with the intent of destroying the worshipers of Baal. 20 And Jehu said, “Proclaim a solemn assembly for the Baal.” And they proclaimed it. 21 And Jehu sent throughout all Israel, and all the worshipers of the Baal came, and was not left a man who did not come in. And they came in to the house of the Baal, and the house of the Baal was full mouth to mouth. 22 And he said to the one in charge of the wardrobe, “Bring out garments for all the worshipers of the Baal.” And he brought out for them the clothing. 23 And Jehu went, and Jonadab son of Rechab, into the house of the Baal, and they said to the worshipers of the Baal, “Search and see that are here with you⁺ no servants of YHWH, for but the worshipers of the Baal only.” 2 Kings 10:15-23, Berean Literal Bible.
