1 I exhort, therefore, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings to be made for all men, 2 for kings and all those being in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable before God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 the One having given Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony in their own proper times, 7 in regard to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I speak the truth; I do not lie—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 8 Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. 9 Likewise also women are to adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and sound-mindedness, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, 10 but with what is proper to women professing the fear of God through good works. 11 Let a woman learn in quietness, in all submission. 12 But I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to use authority over a man, but to be in quietness. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, has come into transgression. 1 Timothy 2:1-14, Berean Literal Bible.
