1 Consider what proof the father has given us of his love, in allowing us to be called the sons of God: therefore the world does not know us, because it knew him not. 2 beloved, we are now the sons of God, tho' it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know, that when this change shall be, his immediate presence will give us a divine resemblance. 3 he that hath such an expectation should purify himself, even as he is pure. 4 he that is vitious, is lawless: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 and you know that he appear'd to abolish our sins; and that he was himself without sin. 1 John 3:1-5, Mace New Testament.
