22 All those chosen for gatekeepers at the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. They in their villages were reckoned—David and Samuel the seer had appointed them to their trusted office. 23 And they and their children were over the gates of the house of YHWH, even of the house of the tabernacle, by watches. 24 On the four sides were the gatekeepers: The east, west, north, and south. 25 And their brothers in their villages were to come in for seven days from time to time with these. 26 For in office were four chief gatekeepers; they were Levites, and they were over the chambers and over the treasuries of the house of God. 27 And around the house of God they lodged, because on them was the watch.
