1 Now Hiram (noble) king of Tyre (a rock) sent envoys to David (beloved), along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters, to build a palace for him. 2 And David (beloved) realized that the LORD {YHWH} had established him as king over Israel (he wrestles with God) and had highly exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel. 3 And David (beloved) took more wives in Jerusalem (city of peace) and became the father of more sons and daughters. 4 These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem (city of peace): Shammua (Shimea), Shobab (rebellious), Nathan (giver), Solomon (peace), 5 Ibhar (YHWH chooses), Elishua (God is salvation), Elpelet (God is deliverance), 6 Nogah (brightness), Nepheg (sprout), Japhia (shining), 7 Elishama (my God has heard), Beeliada (Eliada), and Eliphelet (God is deliverance). 8 When the Philistines (immigrants) heard that David (beloved) had been anointed king over all Israel (he wrestles with God), they all went in search of him; but David learned of this and went out to face them. 9 Now the Philistines (immigrants) had come and raided the Valley of Rephaim. 10 So David (beloved) inquired of God {Elohim}, “Should I go up against the Philistines (immigrants)? Will You deliver them into my hand?” “Go,” replied the LORD {YHWH}, “for I will deliver them into your hand.” 11 So David and his men went up to Baal-perazim (The Lord Bursts Out), where he (beloved) defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a bursting flood, God {Elohim} has burst out against my enemies by my hand.” So they called that place Baal-perazim. 12 There the Philistines abandoned their gods, and David (beloved) ordered that they be burned in the fire. 1 Chronicles 14:1-12, Berean Annotated Bible.
