1 For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; To the chief Musician upon Neginah, <i>A Psalm</i> of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. For the music director; on a stringed instrument. <i>A Psalm</i> of David. Hear my cry, God; Give <i>Your</i> attention to my prayer. For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
2 From the ends of the earth I call out to You whenever my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock <i>that</i> is higher than I. From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For You have been my refuge, a tower of strength against the enemy. for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. For thou hast been a shelter for me, <i>and</i> a strong tower from the enemy. For You have been a refuge for me, A tower of strength against the enemy. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.
4 Let me dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah. Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
5 For You have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the inheritance reserved for those who fear Your name. For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given <i>me</i> the heritage of those that fear thy name. For You have heard my vows, God; You have given <i>me</i> the inheritance of those who fear Your name. For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Increase the days of the king’s life; may his years span many generations. Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations! Thou wilt prolong the king's life: <i>and</i> his years as many generations. You will prolong the king’s life; His years will be like generations. Increase the days of the king’s life, his years for many generations.
7 May he sit enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness to guard him. May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him! He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, <i>which</i> may preserve him. He will sit <i>enthroned</i> before God forever; Appoint faithfulness and truth that they may watch over him. May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
8 Then I will ever sing praise to Your name and fulfill my vows day by day. So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day. So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows. So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may pay my vows day by day. Then I will ever sing in praise of your name and fulfill my vows day after day.
