Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me in thy strength. O God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might. For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David. When the Ziphites had gone to Saul and said, “Is not David hiding among us?” Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might.
O God, hear my prayer: give ear to the words of my mouth. O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth. Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth.
For strangers have risen up against me; and the mighty have sought after my soul: and they have not set God before their eyes. For strangers have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before themselves. Selah Arrogant foes are attacking me; ruthless people are trying to kill me— people without regard for God.
For behold God is my helper: and the Lord is the protector of my soul. Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.
Turn back the evils upon my enemies; and cut them off in thy truth. He will return the evil to my enemies; in your faithfulness put an end to them. Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them.
I will freely sacrifice to thee, and will give praise, O God, to thy name: because it is good: With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O LORD, for it is good. I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, LORD, for it is good.
For thou hast delivered me out of all trouble: and my eye hath looked down upon my enemies. For he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.
