1 By David; a well-written song. How blessed is the one whose rebellious acts are forgiven, whose sin is pardoned! Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Of David. A maskil. Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
2 How blessed is the one whose wrongdoing the LORD does not punish, in whose spirit there is no deceit. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. Blessed is the one whose sin the LORD does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.
3 When I refused to confess my sin, my whole body wasted away, while I groaned in pain all day long. For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

Selah Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
6 For this reason every one of your faithful followers should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. Certainly when the surging water rises, it will not reach them. Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him. Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.
7 You are my hiding place; you protect me from distress. You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance. (Selah) You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. 8 I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye. 9 Do not be like an unintelligent horse or mule, which will not obey you unless they are controlled by a bridle and bit. 10 An evil person suffers much pain, but the LORD's faithfulness overwhelms the one who trusts in him. Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.
11 Rejoice in the LORD and be happy, you who are godly! Shout for joy, all you who are morally upright! Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart! Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
