1 <V 23:1>For the First Sabbath. A Psalm of David. The earth and all its fullness belong to the Lord: the whole world and all that dwells in it. The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, Of David. A psalm. The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
2 <V 23:2>For he has founded it upon the seas, and he has prepared it upon the rivers. for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
3 <V 23:3>Who will ascend to the mountain of the Lord? And who will stand in his holy place? Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 <V 23:4>The innocent of hands and the clean of heart, who has not received his soul in vain, nor sworn deceitfully to his neighbor. He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.
5 <V 23:5>He will receive a blessing from the Lord, and mercy from God, his Saviour. He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. They will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God their Savior.
6 <V 23:6>This is the generation that seeks him, that seeks the face of the God of Jacob. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.
7 <V 23:7>Lift up your gates, you princes, and be lifted up, eternal gates. And the King of Glory shall enter. Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
8 <V 23:8>Who is this King of Glory? The Lord who is strong and powerful; the Lord powerful in battle. Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle! Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 <V 23:9>Lift up your gates, you princes, and be lifted up, eternal gates. And the King of Glory shall enter. Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
10 <V 23:10>Who is this King of Glory? The Lord of virtue. He himself is the King of Glory. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty— he is the King of glory.
