2 Our mouths were filled with laughter then, and our tongues with shouts of joy. Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
3 The LORD had done great things for us; we were joyful. The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad. The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.
4 Restore our fortunes, LORD, like watercourses in the Negev. Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negeb! Restore our fortunes, LORD, like streams in the Negev.
5 Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy. Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.
6 Though one goes along weeping, carrying the bag of seed, he will surely come back with shouts of joy, carrying his sheaves. He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.
