Thou shalt not desire her beauty in thy heart, and she shall not take thee with her eyelashes. Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes; Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes.
For by a woman a harlot, even to a round of bread: and a man's wife will hunt the precious soul. for the price of a prostitute is only a loaf of bread, but a married woman hunts down a precious life. For a prostitute can be had for a loaf of bread, but another man’s wife preys on your very life.
A man taking fire in his bosom, shall his garments not be burnt? Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned? Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned?
If a man shall go upon burning coals shall his feet not be burnt? Or can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?
So he going in to his neighbor's wife; all touching upon her shall not be innocent. So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife; none who touches her will go unpunished. So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished.
