My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,
Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—
Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,
Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,
Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God. then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints. for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path; Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.
For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe. discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you, Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.
Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted. delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech, Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,
These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths. who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways,
They take pleasure in doing wrong, and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil. who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
Their actions are crooked, and their ways are wrong. men whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways. whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.
Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman. So you will be delivered from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words, Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words,
She has abandoned her husband and ignores the covenant she made before God. who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God; who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God.
Entering her house leads to death; it is the road to the grave. for her house sinks down to death, and her paths to the departed; Surely her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead.
The man who visits her is doomed. He will never reach the paths of life. none who go to her come back, nor do they regain the paths of life. None who go to her return or attain the paths of life.
So follow the steps of the good, and stay on the paths of the righteous. So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous. Thus you will walk in the ways of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous.
For only the godly will live in the land, and those with integrity will remain in it. For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it, For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it;
But the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted. but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the treacherous will be rooted out of it. but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.
