He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a farmer went out to sow. And he told them many things in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed.
As he sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and devoured them. And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
Others fell on rocky ground, where they didn’t have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away. but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
Others fell among thorns. The thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.
Others fell on good soil and yielded fruit: some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty. Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” He who has ears, let him hear.” Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
