| 35 | Therefore, stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— | Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— | “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. | |
| 36 | lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping. | lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. | If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. | |
| 37 | And what I say to you I say to all, ‘Stay awake!’” | And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.” | What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’” | |
