1 AND the lot of the descendants of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho to the waters of Jericho on the east, into the wilderness that goes up from Jericho to mount Beth-el, The allotment of the people of Joseph went from the Jordan by Jericho, east of the waters of Jericho, into the wilderness, going up from Jericho into the hill country to Bethel. The allotment for Joseph began at the Jordan, east of the springs of Jericho, and went up from there through the desert into the hill country of Bethel.
2 And goes out from Beth-el to Luz, and then passes along to the border of Ebra and Ataroth, Then going from Bethel to Luz, it passes along to Ataroth, the territory of the Archites. It went on from Bethel (that is, Luz), crossed over to the territory of the Arkites in Ataroth,
3 And goes down westward to the border of Palta, as far as the border of Beth-hauran, the lower, then to Gadar; and its limits extended to the sea. Then it goes down westward to the territory of the Japhletites, as far as the territory of Lower Beth-horon, then to Gezer, and it ends at the sea. descended westward to the territory of the Japhletites as far as the region of Lower Beth Horon and on to Gezer, ending at the Mediterranean Sea.
4 So the descendants of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance. The people of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance. So Manasseh and Ephraim, the descendants of Joseph, received their inheritance.
5 And the border of the descendants of Ephraim according to their families was thus: the boundary of their inheritance was Ataroth and Addar, as far as Beth-hauran, the upper; The territory of the people of Ephraim by their clans was as follows: the boundary of their inheritance on the east was Ataroth-addar as far as Upper Beth-horon, This was the territory of Ephraim, according to its clans: The boundary of their inheritance went from Ataroth Addar in the east to Upper Beth Horon
6 Then the border went westward to the northern portion; after which the border turned eastward below Shiloh, and passed by it on the east of Jaloh; and the boundary goes from there to the sea. On the north is Michmethath. Then on the east the boundary turns around toward Taanath-shiloh and passes along beyond it on the east to Janoah, and continued to the Mediterranean Sea. From Mikmethath on the north it curved eastward to Taanath Shiloh, passing by it to Janoah on the east.
7 And it went down from Jaloh to Ataroth and Jagrath and Pagar, and came to Jericho, and went out of Tappuah to the Jordan; then it goes down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, and touches Jericho, ending at the Jordan. Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah, touched Jericho and came out at the Jordan.
8 And the border went out westward to the river Kabah; and the limits thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Ephraim by their families. From Tappuah the boundary goes westward to the brook Kanah and ends at the sea. Such is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Ephraim by their clans, From Tappuah the border went west to the Kanah Ravine and ended at the Mediterranean Sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Ephraimites, according to its clans.
9 And the cities which were set apart for the descendants of Ephraim were within the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages. together with the towns that were set apart for the people of Ephraim within the inheritance of the Manassites, all those towns with their villages. It also included all the towns and their villages that were set aside for the Ephraimites within the inheritance of the Manassites.
10 And they did not destroy the Canaanites that dwelt in Gadar; so the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, but they were brought into subjection, and they pay tribute. However, they did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer, so the Canaanites have lived in the midst of Ephraim to this day but have been made to do forced labor. They did not dislodge the Canaanites living in Gezer; to this day the Canaanites live among the people of Ephraim but are required to do forced labor.
