| 6 | He comes, therefore, to Simon Peter, and that one says to Him, “Lord, You—do You wash my feet?” | He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” | He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” | |
| 7 | Jesus answered and said to him, “That which I do you have not known now, but you will know after these things”; | Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” | Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” | |
| 8 | Peter says to Him, “You may not wash my feet—throughout the age.” Jesus answered him, “If I may not wash you, you have no part with Me”; | Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.” | “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.” | |
