2 “Dominion and awe belong to God; He establishes harmony in the heights of heaven. “Dominion and fear are with God; he makes peace in his high heaven. Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places. “Dominion and awe belong to Him Who makes peace in His heights. “Dominion and awe belong to God; he establishes order in the heights of heaven.
3 Can His troops be numbered? On whom does His light not rise? Is there any number to his armies? Upon whom does his light not arise? Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise? “Is there any number to His troops? And upon whom does His light not rise? Can his forces be numbered? 4 How then can a man be just before God? How can one born of woman be pure? How then can man be in the right before God? How can he who is born of woman be pure? How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? “How then can mankind be righteous with God? Or how can anyone who is born of woman be pure? How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure?
5 If even the moon does not shine, and the stars are not pure in His sight, Behold, even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure in his eyes; Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. “If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight, If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his eyes,
6 how much less man, who is but a maggot, and the son of man, who is but a worm!” how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm!” How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm? How much less man, that maggot, And a son of man, that worm!” how much less a mortal, who is but a maggot— a human being, who is only a worm!”
