“Son of man, prophesy and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Wail, ‘Alas for that day!’ “Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: “Wail, ‘Alas for the day!’ Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Howl ye, Woe worth the day! “Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “Wail, ‘Woe for the day!’ “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “’Wail and say, “Alas for that day!”
For the day is near, the Day of the LORD is near. It will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen. “For the day is near, Indeed, the day of the LORD is near; It will be a day of clouds, A time of doom for the nations. For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near— a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.
A sword will come against Egypt, and there will be anguish in Cush when the slain fall in Egypt, its wealth is taken away, and its foundations are torn down. A sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Cush, when the slain fall in Egypt, and her wealth is carried away, and her foundations are torn down. And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great pain shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down. “A sword will come upon Egypt, And there will be trembling in Cush; When the slain fall in Egypt, They will take away her wealth, And her foundations will be torn down. A sword will come against Egypt, and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt, her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down.
Cush, Put, and Lud, and all the various peoples, as well as Libya and the men of the covenant land, will fall with Egypt by the sword. Cush, and Put, and Lud, and all Arabia, and Libya, and the people of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword. Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword. Cush, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya and the people of the land that is in league will fall with them by the sword.” Cush and Libya, Lydia and all Arabia, Kub and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.
For this is what the LORD says: The allies of Egypt will fall, and her proud strength will collapse. From Migdol to Syene they will fall by the sword within her, declares the Lord GOD. “Thus says the LORD: Those who support Egypt shall fall, and her proud might shall come down; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall within her by the sword, declares the Lord GOD. Thus saith the LORD; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord GOD. ‘This is what the LORD says: “Indeed, those who support Egypt will fall And the pride of her power will come down; From Migdol to Syene They will fall within her by the sword,” Declares the Lord GOD. “’This is what the LORD says: “’The allies of Egypt will fall and her proud strength will fail. From Migdol to Aswan they will fall by the sword within her, declares the Sovereign LORD.
They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities. And they shall be desolated in the midst of desolated countries, and their cities shall be in the midst of cities that are laid waste. And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted. “They will be desolate In the midst of the desolated lands; And her cities will be In the midst of the devastated cities. “’They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities.
Then they will know that I am the LORD when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are shattered. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have set fire to Egypt, and all her helpers are broken. And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed. “And they will know that I am the LORD, When I set a fire in Egypt And all her helpers are broken. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are crushed.
On that day messengers will go out from Me in ships to frighten Cush out of complacency. Anguish will come upon them on the day of Egypt’s doom. For it is indeed coming. “On that day messengers shall go out from me in ships to terrify the unsuspecting people of Cush, and anguish shall come upon them on the day of Egypt’s doom; for, behold, it comes! In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, it cometh. On that day messengers will go out from Me in ships to frighten carefree Cush; and trembling will come on them as on the day of Egypt; for behold, it is coming!” “’On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt’s doom, for it is sure to come.
This is what the Lord GOD says: I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. “Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “I will also make the hordes of Egypt cease By the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. “’This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “’I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
He and his people with him, the most ruthless of the nations, will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain. He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land, and they shall draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain. He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain. “He and his people with him, The most ruthless of the nations, Will be brought in to destroy the land; And they will draw their swords against Egypt And fill the land with the slain. He and his army—the most ruthless of nations— will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain.
I will make the streams dry up and sell the land to the wicked. By the hands of foreigners I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it. I, the LORD, have spoken. And I will dry up the Nile and will sell the land into the hand of evildoers; I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it, by the hand of foreigners; I am the LORD; I have spoken. And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I the LORD have spoken it. “Moreover, I will make the Nile canals dry And sell the land into the hands of evil men. And I will make the land desolate And all that is in it, By the hand of strangers; I the LORD have spoken.” I will dry up the waters of the Nile and sell the land to an evil nation; by the hand of foreigners I will lay waste the land and everything in it. I the LORD have spoken.
This is what the Lord GOD says: I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis. There will no longer be a prince in Egypt, and I will instill fear in that land. “Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis; there shall no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt; so I will put fear in the land of Egypt. Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt. ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “I will also destroy the idols And make the images cease from Memphis. And there will no longer be a prince in the land of Egypt; And I will put fear in the land of Egypt. “’This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “’I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis. No longer will there be a prince in Egypt, and I will spread fear throughout the land.
I will lay waste Pathros, set fire to Zoan, and execute judgment on Thebes. I will make Pathros a desolation and will set fire to Zoan and will execute judgments on Thebes. And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No. “I will make Pathros desolate, Set a fire in Zoan And execute judgments on Thebes. I will lay waste Upper Egypt, set fire to Zoan and inflict punishment on Thebes.
I will pour out My wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and cut off the crowds of Thebes. And I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and cut off the multitude of Thebes. And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. “I will pour out My wrath on Sin, The stronghold of Egypt; I will also eliminate the hordes of Thebes. I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and wipe out the hordes of Thebes.
I will set fire to Egypt, Pelusium will writhe in anguish, Thebes will be split open, and Memphis will face daily distress. And I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium shall be in great agony; Thebes shall be breached, and Memphis shall face enemies by day. And I will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be rent asunder, and Noph shall have distresses daily. “I will set a fire in Egypt; Sin will writhe in anguish, Thebes will be breached And Memphis will have distresses daily. I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium will writhe in agony. Thebes will be taken by storm; Memphis will be in constant distress.
The young men of On and Pi-beseth will fall by the sword, and those cities will go into captivity. The young men of On and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword, and the women shall go into captivity. The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity. “The young men of On and of Pi-beseth Will fall by the sword, And the women will go into captivity. The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis will fall by the sword, and the cities themselves will go into captivity.
The day will be darkened in Tahpanhes when I break the yoke of Egypt and her proud strength comes to an end. A cloud will cover her, and her daughters will go into captivity. At Tehaphnehes the day shall be dark, when I break there the yoke bars of Egypt, and her proud might shall come to an end in her; she shall be covered by a cloud, and her daughters shall go into captivity. At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. “In Tehaphnehes the day will be dark When I break there the yoke bars of Egypt. Then the pride of her power will cease in her; A cloud will cover her, And her daughters will go into captivity. Dark will be the day at Tahpanhes when I break the yoke of Egypt; there her proud strength will come to an end. She will be covered with clouds, and her villages will go into captivity.
So I will execute judgment on Egypt, and they will know that I am the LORD.” Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the LORD. “So I will execute judgments on Egypt, And they will know that I am the LORD.”’” So I will inflict punishment on Egypt, and they will know that I am the LORD.’”
In the eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me: And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh of the month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, In the eleventh year, in the first month on the seventh day, the word of the LORD came to me:
“Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. See, it has not been bound up for healing, or splinted for strength to hold the sword. “Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and behold, it has not been bound up, to heal it by binding it with a bandage, so that it may become strong to wield the sword. Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword. “Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, behold, it has not been bound up for healing or wrapped with a bandage, so that it may be strong to wield the sword. “Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. It has not been bound up to be healed or put in a splint so that it may become strong enough to hold a sword.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break his arms, both the strong one and the one already broken, and will make the sword fall from his hand. Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt and will break his arms, both the strong arm and the one that was broken, and I will make the sword fall from his hand. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand. Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and I will break his arms, both the strong and the broken; and I will make the sword fall from his hand. Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break both his arms, the good arm as well as the broken one, and make the sword fall from his hand.
I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them throughout the lands. I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them through the countries. And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the lands. I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.
I will strengthen the arms of Babylon’s king and place My sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, who will groan before him like a mortally wounded man. And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a man mortally wounded. And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man. For I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand; and I will break the arms of Pharaoh, so that he will groan before him with the groans of a wounded man. I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a mortally wounded man.
I will strengthen the arms of Babylon’s king, but Pharaoh’s arms will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I place My sword in the hand of Babylon’s king, and he wields it against the land of Egypt. I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall. Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt. But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt. So I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fail. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he reaches out with it against the land of Egypt. I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he brandishes it against Egypt.
I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them throughout the lands. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries; and they shall know that I am the LORD. When I scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the lands, then they will know that I am the LORD.’” I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
