37 וְאַבְשָׁל֣וֹם בָּרַ֔ח וַיֵּ֛לֶךְ אֶל־ תַּלְמַ֥י בֶּן־ [עמיחור] (עַמִּיה֖וּד) מֶ֣לֶךְ גְּשׁ֑וּר וַיִּתְאַבֵּ֥ל עַל־ בְּנ֖וֹ כָּל־ הַיָּמִֽים׃ But Absalom fled and went to Talmai the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son day after day. Absalom fled and went to Talmai son of Ammihud, the king of Geshur. But King David mourned many days for his son.
38 וְאַבְשָׁל֥וֹם בָּרַ֖ח וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ גְּשׁ֑וּר וַיְהִי־ שָׁ֖ם שָׁלֹ֥שׁ שָׁנִֽים׃ So Absalom fled and went to Geshur, and was there three years. After Absalom fled and went to Geshur, he stayed there three years.
39 וַתְּכַל֙ דָּוִ֣ד הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לָצֵ֖את אֶל־ אַבְשָׁל֑וֹם כִּֽי־ נִחַ֥ם עַל־ אַמְנ֖וֹן כִּֽי־ מֵֽת׃ ס And the spirit of the king longed to go out to Absalom, because he was comforted about Amnon, since he was dead. And King David longed to go to Absalom, for he was consoled concerning Amnon’s death.
