5 וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב רְחַבְעָ֖ם בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וַיִּ֧בֶן עָרִ֛ים לְמָצ֖וֹר בִּיהוּדָֽה׃ Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem, and he built cities for defense in Judah. Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem and built up towns for defense in Judah:
6 וַיִּ֧בֶן אֶת־ בֵּֽית־ לֶ֛חֶם וְאֶת־ עֵיטָ֖ם וְאֶת־ תְּקֽוֹעַ׃ He built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa, Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa,
7 וְאֶת־ בֵּֽית־ צ֥וּר וְאֶת־ שׂוֹכ֖וֹ וְאֶת־ עֲדֻלָּֽם׃ Beth-zur, Soco, Adullam, Beth Zur, Soko, Adullam,
8 וְאֶת־ גַּ֥ת וְאֶת־ מָרֵשָׁ֖ה וְאֶת־ זִֽיף׃ Gath, Mareshah, Ziph, Gath, Mareshah, Ziph,
9 וְאֶת־ אֲדוֹרַ֥יִם וְאֶת־ לָכִ֖ישׁ וְאֶת־ עֲזֵקָֽה׃ Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah, Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah,
10 וְאֶת־ צָרְעָה֙ וְאֶת־ אַיָּל֔וֹן וְאֶת־ חֶבְר֔וֹן אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּיהוּדָ֖ה וּבְבִנְיָמִ֑ן עָרֵ֖י מְצֻרֽוֹת׃ Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron, fortified cities that are in Judah and in Benjamin. Zorah, Aijalon and Hebron. These were fortified cities in Judah and Benjamin.
