2 ποιμάνατε τὸ ἐν ὑμῖν ποίμνιον τοῦ Θεοῦ ‹ἐπισκοποῦντες› μὴ ἀναγκαστῶς ἀλλὰ ἑκουσίως κατὰ Θεόν μηδὲ αἰσχροκερδῶς ἀλλὰ προθύμως shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;
3 μηδ’ ὡς κατακυριεύοντες τῶν κλήρων ἀλλὰ τύποι γινόμενοι τοῦ ποιμνίου not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
