1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind, is not jealous, does not brag, is not puffed up; Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 it does not act unbecomingly, does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered; or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails, but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
