The divisions of the gatekeepers: From the Korahites: Meshelemiah son of Kore, one of the sons of Asaph.
2 And to Meshelemiah, sons: Zechariah the first-born, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth, And Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth, Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

4 And to Obed-Edom, sons: Shemaiah, the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Josh the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nathaniel the fifth, And Obed-edom had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth, Obed-Edom also had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sakar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,
5 Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth: for God blessed him. Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth, for God blessed him. Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh and Peullethai the eighth. (For God had blessed Obed-Edom.)
6 To Shemaiah his son were sons born, lords to the house of their fathers: for they were strong of power. Also to his son Shemaiah were sons born who were rulers in their fathers’ houses, for they were men of great ability. Obed-Edom’s son Shemaiah also had sons, who were leaders in their father’s family because they were very capable men.
7 The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, his brethren, sons of strength, Elihu and Semachiah. The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed and Elzabad, whose brothers were able men, Elihu and Semachiah. The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed and Elzabad; his relatives Elihu and Semakiah were also able men.
8 All these from the sons of Obed-Edom: they and their sons and their brethren, men of strength in power for the service, sixty and two to Obed-Edom. All these were of the sons of Obed-edom with their sons and brothers, able men qualified for the service; sixty-two of Obed-edom. All these were descendants of Obed-Edom; they and their sons and their relatives were capable men with the strength to do the work—descendants of Obed-Edom, 62 in all.
9 And to Meshelemiah sons and brethren, sons of strength, eighteen. And Meshelemiah had sons and brothers, able men, eighteen. Meshelemiah had sons and relatives, who were able men—18 in all.
10 And to Hosah from the sons of Merari, Shimri the head, (for he was not the first-born, and his father will set him for head;) And Hosah, of the sons of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief (for though he was not the firstborn, his father made him chief), Hosah the Merarite had sons: Shimri the first (although he was not the firstborn, his father had appointed him the first),
11 Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and the brethren to Hosah, thirteen. Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and brothers of Hosah were thirteen. Hilkiah the second, Tabaliah the third and Zechariah the fourth. The sons and relatives of Hosah were 13 in all.
12 To these the divisions of the gates for the heads of the strong ones, the watches near their brethren, to serve in the house of Jehovah. These divisions of the gatekeepers, corresponding to their chief men, had duties, just as their brothers did, ministering in the house of the LORD. These divisions of the gatekeepers, through their leaders, had duties for ministering in the temple of the LORD, just as their relatives had.
13 And they will cast lots, according to small according to great, for the house of their fathers, to gate and gate. And they cast lots by fathers’ houses, small and great alike, for their gates. Lots were cast for each gate, according to their families, young and old alike.
14 And the lot will fall from the sunrising to Shelemiah. And Zechariah his son counseling in understanding, they cast lots; and his lot will go forth north. The lot for the east fell to Shelemiah. They cast lots also for his son Zechariah, a shrewd counselor, and his lot came out for the north. The lot for the East Gate fell to Shelemiah. Then lots were cast for his son Zechariah, a wise counselor, and the lot for the North Gate fell to him.
15 To Obed-Edom, south; and to his sons the house of stores. Obed-edom’s came out for the south, and to his sons was allotted the gatehouse. The lot for the South Gate fell to Obed-Edom, and the lot for the storehouse fell to his sons.
16 To Shuppim and to Hosah to the west, with the gate of Shallecheth, by the highway of the going up, watch over against watch. For Shuppim and Hosah it came out for the west, at the gate of Shallecheth on the road that goes up. Watch corresponded to watch. The lots for the West Gate and the Shalleketh Gate on the upper road fell to Shuppim and Hosah. Guard was alongside of guard:
17 To the sunrising, six Levites; to the north, four for the day, to the south, four for the day, and to Asuppim, two, two. On the east there were six each day, on the north four each day, on the south four each day, as well as two and two at the gatehouse. There were six Levites a day on the east, four a day on the north, four a day on the south and two at a time at the storehouse.
18 To Parbar to the west, four at the highway, two at the open portico, And for the colonnade on the west there were four at the road and two at the colonnade. As for the court to the west, there were four at the road and two at the court itself.
19 These the divisions of the gates to the sons of the Korahites, and to the sons of Merari. These were the divisions of the gatekeepers among the Korahites and the sons of Merari. These were the divisions of the gatekeepers who were descendants of Korah and Merari.
20 And the Levites, Ahijah over the treasures of the house of God, and for the treasures of the holies. And of the Levites, Ahijah had charge of the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries of the dedicated gifts. Their fellow Levites were in charge of the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries for the dedicated things.
21 The sons of Laadan; the sons of the Gershonite to Laadan, the heads of the fathers to Laadan the Gershonite, Jehieli. The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers’ houses belonging to Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli. The descendants of Ladan, who were Gershonites through Ladan and who were heads of families belonging to Ladan the Gershonite, were Jehieli,
22 The sons of Jehieli: Zotham and Joel his brother, over the treasures of the house of Jehovah. The sons of Jehieli, Zetham, and Joel his brother, were in charge of the treasuries of the house of the LORD. the sons of Jehieli, Zetham and his brother Joel. They were in charge of the treasuries of the temple of the LORD.
23 To the Amramites, to the Izharites, to the Hebronites, to the Uzzielites: Of the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites— From the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites and the Uzzielites:
24 And Shebuel son of Gershom, son of Moses, leader over the treasures. and Shebuel the son of Gershom, son of Moses, was chief officer in charge of the treasuries. Shubael, a descendant of Gershom son of Moses, was the official in charge of the treasuries.
25 And his brethren for Eliezer: Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zaccur his son, and Shelomith his son. His brothers: from Eliezer were his son Rehabiah, and his son Jeshaiah, and his son Joram, and his son Zichri, and his son Shelomoth. His relatives through Eliezer: Rehabiah his son, Jeshaiah his son, Joram his son, Zikri his son and Shelomith his son.
26 This Shelomith and his brethren ever all the treasures of the holies that David the king consecrated, and the heads of the fathers to the chiefs of the thousands and the hundreds, and the chiefs of the army. This Shelomoth and his brothers were in charge of all the treasuries of the dedicated gifts that David the king and the heads of the fathers’ houses and the officers of the thousands and the hundreds and the commanders of the army had dedicated. Shelomith and his relatives were in charge of all the treasuries for the things dedicated by King David, by the heads of families who were the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and by the other army commanders.
27 From the battles and from the spoils they consecrated to strengthen for the house of Jehovah. From spoil won in battles they dedicated gifts for the maintenance of the house of the LORD. Some of the plunder taken in battle they dedicated for the repair of the temple of the LORD.
28 And all Samuel the seer consecrated, and Saul son of Kish, and Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah, all consecrating over the hand of Shelomith and his brethren. Also all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish and Abner the son of Ner and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated—all dedicated gifts were in the care of Shelomoth and his brothers. And everything dedicated by Samuel the seer and by Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiah, and all the other dedicated things were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.
29 To the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons for the work without over Israel, for scribes and for judges. Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were appointed to external duties for Israel, as officers and judges. From the Izharites: Kenaniah and his sons were assigned duties away from the temple, as officials and judges over Israel.
30 To the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, sons of strength, a thousand and seven hundred over the charge of Israel from beyond to Jordan from the west for all the work of Jehovah, and for the service of the king. Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, 1,700 men of ability, had the oversight of Israel westward of the Jordan for all the work of the LORD and for the service of the king. From the Hebronites: Hashabiah and his relatives—seventeen hundred able men—were responsible in Israel west of the Jordan for all the work of the LORD and for the king’s service.
31 To the Hebronites, Jerijah the head to the Hebronites for his generations, for his fathers. In the fortieth year to the kingdom of David they were sought and he will find in them strong ones of power in Jazer of Gilead. Of the Hebronites, Jerijah was chief of the Hebronites of whatever genealogy or fathers’ houses. (In the fortieth year of David’s reign search was made and men of great ability among them were found at Jazer in Gilead.) As for the Hebronites, Jeriah was their chief according to the genealogical records of their families. In the fortieth year of David’s reign a search was made in the records, and capable men among the Hebronites were found at Jazer in Gilead.
32 And his brethren, sons of strength, two thousand and seven hundred heads of the fathers, and David the king will appoint them over the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of the Manassites, for every word of God, and the word of the king. King David appointed him and his brothers, 2,700 men of ability, heads of fathers’ houses, to have the oversight of the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of the Manassites for everything pertaining to God and for the affairs of the king. Jeriah had twenty-seven hundred relatives, who were able men and heads of families, and King David put them in charge of the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh for every matter pertaining to God and for the affairs of the king.
