Psalm 138
NLT Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNET Bible
1I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods.1By David. I will give you thanks with all my heart; before the heavenly assembly I will sing praises to you.
2I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.2I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your name, because of your loyal love and faithfulness, for you have exalted your promise above the entire sky.
3As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.3When I cried out for help, you answered me. You made me bold and energized me.
4Every king in all the earth will thank you, LORD, for all of them will hear your words.4Let all the kings of the earth give thanks to you, O LORD, when they hear the words you speak.
5Yes, they will sing about the LORD’s ways, for the glory of the LORD is very great.5Let them sing about the LORD's deeds, for the LORD's splendor is magnificent.
6Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.6Though the LORD is exalted, he takes note of the lowly, and recognizes the proud from far away.
7Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me.7Even when I must walk in the midst of danger, you revive me. You oppose my angry enemies, and your right hand delivers me.
8The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.8The LORD avenges me. O LORD, your loyal love endures. Do not abandon those whom you have made!
